Effect on channel system
The presence of EUO-chain connections creates a 10-ring channel along the [100] direction. In Polymorph NON (direct connections only), there is no channel system (only cages). In Polymorph EUO (alternating direct and EUO-chain connections) there is a 1-dimensional channel system with side pockets along [100]. In Polymorph NES (only EUO-chain connections), there is a 2-dimensional channel system perpendicular to [010]. All [hkl] directions given here refer to the coordinate system shown on the right.
Simplest ordered end members
Connectors are shown in light blue.
Adjacent PerBUs generated by the same connectivity pattern (with or without connectors in between) are shown with different shades of the same color for clarity.
