Brief description of the disorder
The disorder in *BEA can be described in terms of the ordered 'layer' shown on the right (last 2 images in green). Each 'layer' is rotated by ± 90° with respect to the previous one. In a normal synthesis the stacking is random.

Effect of the disorder on the channel system
The stacking order does not cause any blocking of the 3-dimensional 12-ring channel system.
